There are a lot of opportunities in this world for people to explore especially for the youths because they are still young and agile.In this country so many youths still belong to the school of thought that says one should be born, go to school, get a job, marry, have kids and die. There is no flexibility. What about making a mark in the society or leaving something that you will be remembered for.There are a lot of micro finance companies springing up daily.I think they should move closer to the youths,partner with schools(secondary and university), let these enterpreneural skills be taught as subject right from secondary level so that when these youths finish school, thry will not have to wait for yearsto get jobs or roam the streets with their certificates.At the point of graduation, they should already be self dependent.The degree is important but should not be relied solely upon.One could become lazy because he has at the back of his mind that he has a degree and can always get a job but when the job is not forthcoming he blames the government.
A greater asset than our education which we have is our mind. We have the power to do whatever we believe in our minds. We also need determination. We should believe in ourselves and imbibe the can do spirit. It was determination that led Bill Gates out of high school to pursue his dream and today his is one of the richest men in the world. We need to be flexible and not to think only in one direction. If our youths in this country apply these, they will give less of their time to crime and other nefarious activities. Thank you.
